[4 Stars] I am gripped, but I must keep going。 I just want to know more about this world tbh。 The aesthetic and world building is A+。

That was a fun, blood-soaked romp in which we learn a little more about Caiman and Nikaido。 It had a bit of action, a bit of silliness; it was just as expected。

This series has a very great blend of action comics and surreal imagery。 Wish Hayashida would use more of those interesting page layouts I love, but I’m completely invested。 Very fucking fun。

One star is off because I really don't like zombies but everything else was delicious like a mushroom soup。 But if you watched "Hannibal" and are a sensitive person you probably skip mushrooms in your menu。 I'm off topic I know。 One star is off because I really don't like zombies but everything else was delicious like a mushroom soup。 But if you watched "Hannibal" and are a sensitive person you probably skip mushrooms in your menu。 I'm off topic I know。 。。。more

The Hole is a dismal city neighbourhood where people who cannot use magic live。 There, the Sorcerers (or “Magic Users”) abduct people to use in their awful black arts experiments。 Nikaido hunts and kills sorcerers。 Her partner is Caiman, a male mutant with a reptile head and a bad case of amnesia。 He chomps down on the head of each sorcerer hoping to find the one that transformed him。 They’ve drawn the attention of En, the head Sorcerer, who wants them dead。Dorohedoro, Vol。 2 opens on “Night of The Hole is a dismal city neighbourhood where people who cannot use magic live。 There, the Sorcerers (or “Magic Users”) abduct people to use in their awful black arts experiments。 Nikaido hunts and kills sorcerers。 Her partner is Caiman, a male mutant with a reptile head and a bad case of amnesia。 He chomps down on the head of each sorcerer hoping to find the one that transformed him。 They’ve drawn the attention of En, the head Sorcerer, who wants them dead。Dorohedoro, Vol。 2 opens on “Night of the Living Dead,” the one night of the year when hordes of the dead rise and roam the streets of the Hole, hungry for live flesh。 Caiman and Nikaido sign up for the local zombie-killing contest hoping to win the money to purchase a prized small kitchen appliance。 Meanwhile, En sends two of his cleaners, Noi and Shin, to dispatch Caiman and Nikaido。Like Masamune Shirow on mescaline – perhaps that is not quite the way to describe Q Hayashida’s work on her manga Dorohedoro。 Still, Dorohedoro sort of resembles some DIY, punk rock comix version of Shirow’s manga。 This seinen manga (comics for adult men) is a blast to read with its graphical style that is as alluring as it is degenerate。 Dorohedoro is the good stuff。Fans who always wanted a science fiction, dark fantasy, and horror comic book now have it in Dorohedoro。 。。。more

Honestly! I love this series even though I don't know what is going on half the time。 I just think Kaiman is a fantastic hero, and I care what happens to him。 The seeming stream of consciousness just suits my mood。 And it's damn funny, too。 Honestly! Better。The story flows a little better, i like that it's fast paced and it doesn't dwell in unnecessary things。 i'm getting used to the gritty art, it works with the violence and gore but i still struggle sometimes to understand some panels。 The comedy is on point, it was much better than in volume 1。The characters are the best part of the manga so far。 Even the villains have their own arc and they have almost the same amount of time in the front as the main duo。 Al of them are complex and intri Better。The story flows a little better, i like that it's fast paced and it doesn't dwell in unnecessary things。 i'm getting used to the gritty art, it works with the violence and gore but i still struggle sometimes to understand some panels。 The comedy is on point, it was much better than in volume 1。The characters are the best part of the manga so far。 Even the villains have their own arc and they have almost the same amount of time in the front as the main duo。 Al of them are complex and intriguing, i can't wait to learn more about them。Overall, i'm not fully convinced on the series yet but i'm intrigued enough to keep reading。 。。。more

This was pure chaos。 The art is gritty and primal and I love it。

Both the illustrations and translations are sloppy at times but over all the story is still enticing enough to keep me coming back。

Muy entretenido, aunque sigo disfrutando más el anime

As I said in my review of the first volume, I am not sure if I would feel the same about this manga if I had not seen the anime first。 The art continues to be messy and raw。 It works for the story and the violence, but at times things feel lost on the page。 I love the world building that occurs。 This place is bizarre and filled with all kinds of craziness。 It makes me want to dive in further, but I cannot help but feel like it might not end up being as cohesive as I would hope。 Only time will te As I said in my review of the first volume, I am not sure if I would feel the same about this manga if I had not seen the anime first。 The art continues to be messy and raw。 It works for the story and the violence, but at times things feel lost on the page。 I love the world building that occurs。 This place is bizarre and filled with all kinds of craziness。 It makes me want to dive in further, but I cannot help but feel like it might not end up being as cohesive as I would hope。 Only time will tell。 。。。more

Yep, once again I blitzed through it。 Soaking up the intense visuals and diving into the developing story。

Still a wonderful series, save for the weird situations the minor character, Ebisu, is put in。 Overall, a 4。5/5。

Watching the Netflix series turned me onto this manga series。 I just need to find a format that makes for easier reading。 Really enjoying the world building and the characters。

Thomas Hale

Getting back into this series and falling back in love with the grungy, filthy style of it。 Quirky takes on a zombie outbreak and a high-stakes boxing match, with some cool and delightfully unpleasant dark magical rituals。 Will definitely continue this。

This series is too much fun。 Surprisingly we got some answers to a few mysteries brought up in volume 1, which was a lot faster than I expected。 But there are still a million questions in the air。 This manga is really sparking my sense of curiosity like no other。 I want to keep reading more and more just to find out what's going on。 The thing is, this could easily be a straightforward slice of life series and it would still be a goddamn masterpiece。 The way that Q Hayashida depicts such a comfy This series is too much fun。 Surprisingly we got some answers to a few mysteries brought up in volume 1, which was a lot faster than I expected。 But there are still a million questions in the air。 This manga is really sparking my sense of curiosity like no other。 I want to keep reading more and more just to find out what's going on。 The thing is, this could easily be a straightforward slice of life series and it would still be a goddamn masterpiece。 The way that Q Hayashida depicts such a comfy vibe in such a violent world is effortlessly seamless; the action and mystery is just the cherry on top。 。。。more

It feels like the creator is writing this book by the seat of his pants, throwing in zombies and an underground fighting tournament just because。 And that gives the series an off-kilter tone that continues to appeal to me。 The gore and nudity help too (though the abuse being heaped on the female side character Ebisu is really crossing the line)。The first dozen pages are in color, and boy, the art looks so much better with some of the sloppiness covered。I found out this series runs for 23 volumes It feels like the creator is writing this book by the seat of his pants, throwing in zombies and an underground fighting tournament just because。 And that gives the series an off-kilter tone that continues to appeal to me。 The gore and nudity help too (though the abuse being heaped on the female side character Ebisu is really crossing the line)。The first dozen pages are in color, and boy, the art looks so much better with some of the sloppiness covered。I found out this series runs for 23 volumes, and now my main worry is that it will follow the track of Attack on Titan and get so involved in its mythology and introducing new characters that it will lose the loosey-goosey quality that have made the first two volumes so fun。 。。。more
